This study evaluates the effectiveness of the University Division Academic and Career 1010 course as indicated by persistence and academic success in college. Persistence in college is defined as continuous enrollment up to and including graduation. Success is defined as maintaining a Grade Point Average allowing continued attendance and graduation. The University Division Academic and Career 1010 course is referred to as UDIV. Subjects include 497 first-year students at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, 1986 (243) and 1987 (254).
