This study reports the results of the analysis of 7th grade students\u27 skills, intentions, and feelings related to writing in a classroom context. Students\u27 general language skills were described through the use of standardized achievement tests. Developmental status was described in social-interpersonal and cognitive development. Story writing performance was assessed using a holistic scale. Perceptions about writing were assessed through an objective attitude scale and through analysis of student responses to an open-ended questionnaire.
