This study examined the relationship between the independent variables of passage interest, vocabulary difficulty, and print size and the dependent variable of students\u27 situation-specific self-efficacy for completing a reading task. It also sought to determine if the self-efficacy judgments made from specific reading passages related to students\u27 general self-efficacy for reading. Thirty high achieving and thirty low achieving high school students were first given a general self-efficacy measure for reading.
