Background: Language processing abnormalities and inhibition difficulties are hallmark features of schizophrenia. The objective of this study is to asses the blood oxygenation level-dependent (BOLD) response at two different stages of the illness and compare the frontal activity between adolescents and adults with schizophrenia. Methods: 10 adults with schizophrenia (mean age 31,5 years) and 6 psychotic adolescents with schizophrenic symptoms (mean age 16,2 years) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging while performing two frontal tasks.
