Subsistence variability in the Willamette Valley

Graduation date: 1987During the summer of 1981, Oregon State University\ud archaeologically tested three prehistoric sites on the\ud William L. Finley National Wildlife Refuge. Among the\ud sites tested were typical Willamette Valley floodplain\ud and adjacent upland sites. Most settlement-subsistence\ud pattern models proposed for the Willamette Valley have\ud been generated with data from the eastern valley floor,\ud western Cascade Range foothills. The work at Wm. L. Finley National Wildlife Refuge provides one of the first\ud opportunities to view similar settings along the western\ud margins of the Willamette Valley
