Graduation date: 1986The hypotheses of this study stated the following:\ud Interaction with the computer game will significantly\ud increase the class means in: (1) mathematical\ud achievement, (2) attitudes toward mathematics, and (3)\ud graphing ability in high school advanced algebra.\ud ALGEBRA ARCADE is a computerized simulation game\ud played on a coordinate grid. One can play against\ud one's self or another player. Greater knowledge of\ud graphing functions results in a higher score. The game\ud closely resembles commercially marketed videogames.\ud Eleven teachers, at seven high schools, each\ud taught a control and an experimental class.
