Graduation date: 1990The purpose of this study was to document, through\ud personal interviews, perceptions, attitudes and coping\ud skills utilized by women who have survived breast cancer\ud treated by mastectomy for at least 5 years without\ud recurrence.\ud A semi-structured interview guide was developed with\ud input from professionals in the field. The questions were\ud chosen to elicit the breast cancer survivors' perceptions,\ud attitudes and coping skills on a variety of aspects of\ud having undergone a mastectomy and survived the disease for\ud a minimum of 5 years.
