What understanding of fraction do the peruvian mathematics textbooks support?

Para valorar la comprensión de la fracción en Perú desde una perspectiva curricular, realizamos un análisis de 20 libros de texto peruanos de matemáticas (1963-2005). El análisis se fundamenta en la dimensión fenómeno-epistemológica de un modelo operativo para la interpretación de la comprensión en matemáticas. Se pone la atención sobre los significados, las representaciones e ilustraciones, la fenomenología y la orientación metodológica. Atendiendo a estos elementos, identificamos 3 periodos con carencias en la comprensión pero con una cierta evolución positiva en el tratamiento didáctico de la fracción. Con el propósito de mejorar esta situación, presentamos algunas recomendaciones que pueden resultar eficaces en el desarrollo de la comprensión de la fracción.To assess the understanding of fraction in Peru from a curricular perspective, we performed an analysis of 20 Peruvian mathematics textbooks (1963-2005). The analysis is based on the phenomenon-epistemological dimension of an operative model for interpreting the understanding in mathematics. The attention is focused on the meanings, representations and illustrations, the phenomenology and the methodological orientation. From these elements, we identify three periods with limitations in the understanding but with a certain positive evolution in the pedagogical treatment of fraction. With the purpose of improving this situation, we present some recommendations that can help to develop the understanding of fraction
