Collaborative purchasing in healthcare system

The paper represents an exploratory study aimed at developing a theoretical framework that supports the elaboration of efficient collaborative purchasing (CP) strategies in the healthcare system. We identify prerequisites for developing an efficient CP approach in the healthcare system. A case study of Danish National Healthcare system is presented. The case indicates that trust and stakeholders’ commitment are key elements for successful CP initiatives.
