Uranium mining began on the Navajo Reservation during World War II and continued for several years following the war. Many components of uranium mining operations and policies have left a trail of serious, social, physical, cultural, and environmental consequences which have impacted, and continue to impact the people of the Navajo culture. Each of these ramifications will be discussed through the incorporation of Navajo beliefs, and social organization, which have further compounded the effects of the United States government\u27s exploitation of uranium and the Navajo people
