Transboundary Protected areas (TBP As) and peace parks are possible solutions to conflict and environmental problems that can occur along the borders separating countries. Though there are many possible benefits to the parks creation, they can cause problems for those that live along the borders. A series of case studies are examined to determine what factors can help or hinder the success of the parks. Without communication at all levels, from government to locals, the parks are unsuccessful. If the people at the border are not part of the decisions made regarding the parks they are much more likely to fail.
