Pinto bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) germplasm line ABCP-8 (Reg. no. GP-237, PI 635118) was developed by the University of Nebraska Agricultural Research Division in cooperation with USDA-ARS and released in 2004. This line was bred specifically for enhanced resistnace to common bacterial blight [caused by Xanthomonas campestris pv. phaseoli (Smith) Dye].
