These Uniform Methods and Rules (UM&R) are the minimum standards adopted and approved by the Deputy Administrator, Veterinary Services (VS), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), on January 20, 2005. They were established for the maintenance of tuberculosis-free accredited herds of cattle and bison and the maintenance of State or zone status in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) tuberculosis eradication program. These minimum standards do not preclude the adoption of more stringent standards by any State or zone
