AHC interview with Alfred Mamber.

November 19, 2008Alfred Mamber was born as Alfred Baurer on June 8,1925 in Vienna, Austria. He and his family were able to leave Austria before the Anschluss in February of 1938. They went to Trinidad, where they were arrested as enemy aliens for one year. Afterwards, the family went to New York, where Alfred Mamber finished his high school education. Right after his graduation, he was 18, he joined the Army and went with an Intelligence Unit to Europe. After the war he studied chemistry and opened a retail business with his wife, Vera Mamber (AHC 3315). They both retired to Bayside, NY.Austrian Heritage Collectio
