In this thesis I have explored the possibilities of using mobile phones based on Android platform for indoors positioning. An application that enables such positioning was developed and tested especially to confirm my thesis. The first part of the thesis explains the various kinds of location-based services, their usefulness and problem possibilities. This section also introduces the reader to the field and explores the potential of such technologies and correlated methods. Their comparison has led me to focus on using the specific method of Location Fingerprinting (LF).
