Conversations in Painting is an exhibition by four artists working with, and against the boundaries of an abstract painting practice. The artists explore four very different approaches to materials, format and surface and renegotiate a painting paradigm that can incorporate de-formalised techniques and new spatial agendas. The exhibition will invite a ‘conversation’ between the installed works in which abstract painting can be seen to be re-invigorated as an idiom and yet, at the same time, explore a terrain in which new models of practice might begin to emerge
