PENINGKATAN PRESTASI BELAJAR IPA ANAK TUNA GRAHITA DENGAN MEDIA GAMBAR HEWAN BERKAKI EMPAT PADA SISWA KELAS IV C-1 SLB WIDYA BHAKTI SEMARANG TAHUN PELAJARAN 2010/2011

This research aims to improve the science learning achievement of mental retarded children using four-leg animal picture in IV graders of SLB C-1 Widya Bhakti Semarang in the school year 2010/2011. In teaching-learning process, a teachers is required to be more activeand creative by giving learning method, in order to make students not saturated, bored, and passive in attending the lesson; therefore, the writer attempts to carry out a classroom action research using a visual aids of four-leg animals picture. The subject of research was the IV graders of SLB C-1 Widya Bhakti Semarang in the school year of 2010/2011 consisting of 5 students. Techniques of collecting data employed in this research were test, observation sheet, demonstration method, question and answer and assignment. Then they were described into assessment data in the form of score. From such method the students will be more active, creative and interested in attending the learning process. From the classroom action research conducted, it can be concluded that the application of four-leganimal picture method can improve the learning achievement of mental retarded children in IV the grade of SLB C-1 Widya Bhakti Semarang
