PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN TEPUNG LIMBAH UDANG DALAM RANSUM TERHADAP KUALITAS TELUR ITIK

The duck husbandry with intensive treatments needs high cost for the feed. Fish meal cause the expensi ve price of ration because it limited avalability . Therefore, we must look for another alternative material, which is use shrimp waste. Shrimp waste is inexpensive, more available and it contains high nutrition . The usage of this waste can increase the score of yolk colour. The research aimed t o determine t he effect of shrimp waste usage in the ration on the quality of duck eggs. Research was conducted in the Village Mranggen, Boyolali for three months. The research used 80 local female ducks age 21 we eks with the completely random design (CRD), four treatment s consist ed four replications each . The ration consisted of yellow corn, rice bran, soybean waste, fish meal , premix, grit, vegetable oil and the powder of shrimp waste. The treatment s were P0 (control diet contains shrimp waste 0%), P1 (the ration contains 3 % of shrimp waste), P2 (the ration contains 6% of shrimp waste) , and P3 (the ration contains 9% of shrimp waste) . The paramaters observed were egg weight, index of albumen, yolk index, yolk weight, haught unit value, eggshell a weight , and eggshell thickness . The result showed that the average of four different treatments: P0, P1, P2, and P3 for the egg weight ranged between 55 .90-58.36 gram, 0.18-0.19 for albumen index, 0.47 -0. 49 for yolk index, 19.50 -20.86 g ram for egg yolk weight , yo lk colour for 6.94-7. 79, 94.51 -98.47 for the HU value, the weight of eggshell 5.82 -6. 17, and 0.35-0. 37 mm for shell thickness . The result of variance analysis showed that the use of shrimp waste in ration significantly affected the colour of duck egg yolk . However, it did not have significant effect on egg weight, the index of albumen, the yolk index, the yolk weight, the egg value of haught unit, the weight of eggshell, and the thickness of eggshell. It canbe concluded that the powder of shrimp waste usag e until 9% of the tota l ration enhanced the colour of yolk. However, it did not affect egg weight, index of albumen, yolk index, yolk weight, haught unit value, eggshell a weight , and eggshell thickness .
