PENGARUH PEMBERIAN JUS PEPAYA (Carica papaya L.) SEBAGAI HEPATOPROTEKTOR TERHADAP HEPAR MENCIT YANG DIPAPAR PARASETAMOL

Objectives : The purpose of this research is to know the effect of Papaya Juice (Carica papaya L.) as Hepatoprotector on Mice’s Liver Induced by Parasetamol. Methods : This research was a experimental laboratory with post test only control group design. Twenty eight male mice Swiss Webster strain divided into 4 groups; control group and groups of I-III. The control group was given orally aquadest 0,2ml/20gr body weight of mice. And then, the groups of I-III was induced by parasetamol on day 1-14. On the 8th-14th day, group II-III were administered orally with multilevel doses of papaya juice (122 mg dan 244 mg/ 20 g body weight of mice). On the 15th day, all of mice were sacrificed for liver histopathological study. The hepatocytes damage were observed by number of necrosis cells on the central lobule of liver. Then the data was analyzed using One Way Anova and LSD. Results : The data showed that average number of necrotic nucleus in the control group was 7,28, group I was 83,64, group II was 44,71, and group III was 22.50. The results of One Way ANOVA statistical test showed a significant difference in all four groups, p = 0,000 (p <0,050).
