Objective Shoulder and arm exercises are a routine part of post-operative care after axillary dissection for breast cancer. There appears to be a wide variation in recommendations in relation to the commencement of shoulder mobilisation in the post-operative period. The objective of this national survey was to collect printed information to identify common approaches and trends in the guidance supplied to patients through written material. Design Postal survey to collect patient information on shoulder and arm exercises for breast cancer patients.
