Recently developed adhesive materials enable the transfer of high loads between glass and other materials for structural use. However, for a numerical simulation, the description of the non-linear behaviour of the adhesives must still be improved. Therefore extensive experimental investigations have been carried out on a structural elastomer and a material constitutive model has been derived based on the experimental results. Via numerical studies, the new constitutive model has been validated and assessed by comparison to test data and existing models
