En este trabajo se presenta la teoría de ondas acopladas beta value para el estudio de redes de difracción de volumen por reflexión no inclinadas. Esta teoría se modificará para tener en cuenta las condiciones de frontera de forma apropiada. Mediante esta técnica se podrá aplicar la teoría de ondas acopladas a redes de difracción cuyo índice de refracción promedio es diferente al medio en el cuál se propagan la onda incidente y reflejada. Como se comprobará en el trabajo, el método descrito supone una mejora con respecto a la Teoría convencional de Ondas Acopladas de Kogelnik.
