La cacería es un componente fundamental de la cultura y de las estrategias de subsistencia de los pueblos indígenas de la Amazonía. Además es una importante amenaza para la biodiversidad de algunas áreas. En esta revisión se recopilan 14 registros de cacería de distintas nacionalidades indígenas de la región amazónica del Ecuador. La edad y el tamaño de las localidades se han relacionado con parámetros clave de los registros de cacería y las tasas de cosecha reportadas se han comparado con las consideradas sostenibles. Los resultados muestran que los mamíferos son el grupo más importante en términos de biomasa y número de capturas.
