For the last thirty years there have been many changes in how organizations work, due to among other things globalization and information technology. This has changed the way we look at leadership. One effect is that more and more tasks have been devolved to first line managers (FLM). Their most important task is their HR responsibility. It can sometimes be tough to prioritize this part of their responsibilities when some of their more ‘hard’ and visible tasks such as economy or functional activities insist on attention.
