Sofi Nyström Resumé Standards - a survey Standards are an essential part of creating new markets. It is important for companies to develop a standardization policy and use standards as one of the strategic tools in order to facilitate commercialization of their research and development. This essay gives a description of the nature of standards and the different standardization bodies. Legal implications that have an effect on standards are discussed, such as IPR´s and Competition law. Suggestions on company strategies on standards are given. The essay is part of a Law management project, "Management of IT-structures"
