STRATEGI KOMUNIKASI BADAN PENANGGULANGAN BENCANA DAERAH DALAM MENSOSIALISASIKAN SIAGA BENCANA BANJIR

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province is a government agency established for regional disaster management. As a government agency, of course, it is very necessary to implement communication strategies, especially in socializing the flood disaster preparedness in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. Communication strategies are needed so that the message and information to be conveyed can be received and understood by the community in accordance with the objectives. This study aims to determine and describe the communication strategies of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in disseminating flood preparedness. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive type. This research is located in the Provincial Disaster Management Agency of the Bangka Belitung Islands, Profession Road (Eks. Gedung Profesi) Ex. Air Itam at Pangkalpinang with the object of research. Communication Strategy for the Provincial Disaster Management Agency of the Bangka Belitung Islands in socializing flood preparedness. While the research subjects were the BPBD Chief Executive of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province and the Head of BPBD Prevention and Preparedness in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. Data collection uses non-participant observation and interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the BPBD communication strategy of the Province of Bangka Belitung Islands is by emphasizing persuasive and informative communication techniques on communicators, communicant targets, message presentation and media selection. Opinion leaders can be used as intermediaries for two-stage communication. The right communication media by utilizing the association of institutions as a communication intermediary.
