Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) known also as Micro Arc Oxidation (MAO) process is widely used to fabricate porous coatings on titanium and its alloys mainly in water- and acid based solutions to different applications, e.g. in biomaterials, catalysts, and sensors.
