We present two new theoretical results. Firstly, the existing theories of barrierless electronic relaxation are generalized to include an arbitrary initial population distribution on the excited surface. Secondly, a new model for zero-barrier reaction is presented and solved. This new model may be more appropriate for relaxation in triphenylmethane dyes than existing theoretical models
