Unlike the motives of international M & A, the determinants of this form of external company growth are poorly studied in the economic literature. Factors affecting the decision within the selection of international M & A as a form of growth can be divided into three groups: (1) firm level factors (2) factors of economic sector (3) state level factors. The PhD thesis examines macro level factors that affect the dynamics and value of international M & A in the Republic of Serbia and the neighboring countries ( Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania) in the period from 2003-2012.
