The second generation of terrestrial digital video broadcasting (DVB-T2) standard was published by European Telecommunications Standards Institute in 2008. Compared with the previous DVB-T, the new standard offers better robustness to severe channel conditions and provides up to 60% data capacity increment. These performance improvements are achieved through the adoption of new channel coding and modulation techniques.
