The aim of this research is to study lexico-emotional processes of activation and inhibition in aging. Studies suggest that normal aging is characterized by lexical activation and inhibition impairment. Nonetheless, recent findings showed that emotional regulation tend to enhance with aging in order to maintain subjective well-being effective. This subjective well-being could enhance sensitivity in older adults toward positive stimuli whereas negative ones could be disengaged.
