Polymer plain bearings are often applied to submerged pumping systems. In the state of Rio Grande do Norte, there is a high demand for this type of component due to activities such as shrimp farming and nautical industry. In this context, this study aims to manufacture and apply bushings composed of PTFE + tailings of Scheelite, investigating the tribological behavior of this material when subjected to severe test conditions (high PV pair). Then, bushings made of this composite were manufactured by hot compaction and will be tested in a test rig with shaft rotational speed and load control.
