The main aim of this article is to show the motif of Christmas Eve in ,,chronicle” and short stories written by Bolesław Prus. I have focused on some writings dating between 1874 and 1889. In my work to show the whole aspect of celebrating Christmas Eve. I have not only used works connected with history of literature but I have also studies and included some philosophical, psychological, ethical and theological points of view. That is why I gained more interdisciplinary approach to the subject. ,,Ewangelical positivist” in his novels showed stories of various people having different society background which is easy to notice.
