This works focuses on a three-dimensional finite élément modelling of the end région of synchronous machines.The end-winding teakage reactance and forces are calculated using a magnetostatic model for the end région and the complexity of the end-winding geometry is fully represented.The surface impédance boundary condition is employed to aïlow for eddy currents in thick components of the end région.Eddy-current losses in the laminated stator core of a real synchronous machine are computed using a magnétodynamic model and the T-0 formulation with a single-compbnent electric vector potential.
