International audienceThe prospection and salvage digs carried out for the creation of the golf club of Servanne (meridional piedmont of the Alpilles) have uncovered an archaeological site dating from the iron age. Like the oppidum of Caisses which overlooks the site, it consists of two periods of occupation, about 350 years apart. The first from the 6th to the 5th century BC corresponds to an extensive occupation by independent units limited on the north by a ravine; the second period from the 2nd to the 1st century BC is formed of more closely-knit constructions but with no apparent urban planning implanted in the blocked-up bed of the ravine and on its banks.
