International audienceMost of the time, teaching and / or learning to read are studied to understand pupil difficulties. We believe that studying the professional development process of novice teachers with regard to this specific teaching, may also shed light on this critical issue. This article will explore how novice teachers become professionals in teaching reading to first-grade, based on longitudinal research conducted in successive stages over six years.
