La vía chilena al neoliberalismo. Miradas cruzadas sobre un país laboratorio

International audienceTo think about the neo-liberalism represents an essential challenge to understand contemporary societies. In this sense, it is convenient to consider the neo-liberalism “in concrete,” i.e., from specific historical processes. The Latin-American neoliberal history is characterized by a large diversity of experiences and an extensive chronology which spans from the 1970s to the 1990s, and, nevertheless, all of it inserted in a common global movement. With the coup d’état of 1973 and the economical turn of 1975, Chile begins and foresees in a certain way this new historical world stage. The present time history of this South cone small country plunge us in the “pre-history” of the neo-liberalism, at least in one of its pioneering though peripheral ways of application. That is the reason behind the great interest on examining recent Chilean university publications dedicated to this subject. Our purpose is to critically analyze and discuss three important books published from 2010 regarding the Chilean neo-liberalism. We intend to cross the different points of view and make diverse epistemological traditions to dialogue in an argument we hope to be fruitful, and which would like to approach to the outline complexity of the Chilean and Latin-American neo-liberalism.Pensar el neoliberalismo representa un desafío esencial para comprender las sociedades contemporáneas. En este sentido, conviene considerar el neoliberalismo “en concreto”, es decir, desde procesos históricos específicos. La historia neoliberal latinoamericana está caracterizada por una gran diversidad de experiencias, una cronología amplia que se extiende de los años 70 a la década 90, todo, sin embargo, inserto en un movimiento global común. Con el golpe de Estado de 1973 y el giro económico de 1975, Chile inicia y, de cierta manera, anticipa este nuevo ciclo histórico mundial. La historia del tiempo presente de este pequeño país del Cono Sur nos sumerge así en la “prehistoria” del neoliberalismo, por lo menos en uno de sus modos de aplicación pionero, aunque periférico. De ahí, el gran interés de revisar las publicaciones universitarias chilenas recientes dedicadas a esta temática: nos proponemos analizar aquí y discutir de manera crítica 3 libros importantes publicados desde 2010 en torno al neoliberalismo chileno. Se trata de cruzar las miradas y hacer dialogar tradiciones epistemológicas diversas, en un intercambio que esperamos fecundo, que quisiera acercase a la complejidad de los contornos del neoliberalismo chileno (y latinoamericano)
