Prolongements continentaux et atlantiques de la néolithisation méditerranéenne

National audienceThe continental and Atlantic extension of the Mediterranean Neolithization is the main topic of the PROCOME project funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR). This Project focuses on the conditions surrounding the emergence and evolution of agro-pastoral societies in the southwest quarter of France during the 6th and 5th millennium cal. BC. In keeping with the theme of the 12th Rencontres méridionales de Préhistoire récente this paper focuses on the question of the dynamics of the spread of the Neolithic economy between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. Based on an audited database, this topic is addressed with particular attention given to the gap of the Garrone valley and to the potential interactions between the last hunter-gatherers and the first farmers coming from the Mediterranean area.Le thème des prolongements continentaux et atlantiques de la néolithisation méditerranéenne est au coeur du programme PROCOME financé par l’Agence nationale de la recherche (ANR). Ce projet vise l’étude des conditions d’émergence et d’évolution des sociétés agro-pastorales dans le quart sud-ouest de la France, durant les VIe et Ve millénaires avant notre ère. Dans cet article, nous proposons, en lien avec la thématique des 12e Rencontres méridionales de Préhistoire récente, d’aborder la question de la dynamique d’expansion de l’économie néolithique entre Méditerranée et Atlantique. C’est à partir d’une révision critique de la documentation disponible que nous abordons cette problématique en nous intéressant plus particulièrement aux lacunes de la plaine de la Garonne et aux potentielles interactions entre les derniers chasseurs et les premiers-agropasteurs issus des régions méditerranéennes
