International audienceIn recent years, various changes in favor of Amerindian languages have emerged in Latin American legislations. These reforms are indicative of the attention paid by the Latin American states to the preservation of languages spoken by a significant part of their population, but now endangered. In this context, this contribution aims to analyze the scope of these recent legal developments and to examine the nature and the extent of the linguistic rights of Native Americans. Obviously, these language legislations express the political will to reflect in the law the multiculturalism of Latin American societies.
