International audienceThis study presents collections of fine ceramic ware from archaeological excavations of Alexandrian residential quarters. The aim is to determine and evaluate the imports (quantity, technical and cultural identity) as compared to local products, and to understand the evolution of their presence. We will review the networks of exchange between Alexandria and the rest of the Mediterranean, pointing out, according to chronology, the supply in quantity and quality of the production centres involved in long distance export. We will retrace the technological and cultural evolution of the products and set this data against certain economic factors.
