Night work exposure that involves a disruption of the biological clock has been linked to an increased risk of breast cancer incidence among women. Nevertheless, the quality has not always been present in epidemiological studies’ methodologies and the scientific debate is still open. This thesis conducts a review of the literature to update the knowledge on the subject and includes an occupational health perspective. The study of 10meta-analyses and experts’ work including 66 papers in total as well as the most recent epidemiological studies, supports a statistically significant increase in the incidence of breast cancer among night workers.
