Individuals with an increased need for good hearing (e.g. due to hearing impairments or limited language skills) should be supported by the spatial situation to deal with their disadvantage. Therefore, in DIN 18041: 2016 requirements for the reverberation time are defined which should support audibility depending on the user group and context of use of a room. The requirements defined in DIN 18041: 2016 are based on the assumption that a reduction of the reverberation time leads to improved audibility when considering inclusion.
