En este trabajo se estudia la presencia de caolinita (materia prima de interés cerámico) en varios cortes desarrollados sobre granitos y pizarras situados en la sierra de Huelva. Los cortes desarrollados sobre granitos (situados en Santa Olalla y Cala), alcanzan un contenido en caolinita entre un 60% y un 70%. En los cortes desarrollados sobre pizarras (situados en Galaroza y Almonaster), la caolinita llega a estar presente en proporciones del 80%. Acompañando a la caolinita aparece siempre ilita, estando presente además mineral con aluminio interlaminar.
