When studying the morphology of historic buildings the acquisition of point cloud or polygonal mesh patterns coupled with the integration of traditional survey, lay the basis for the formulation of a study integrating more skills. Concepts like resolution, accuracy and precision combined with alignment of scans, mesh creation, optimum decimation, texturization to extract the desired output are the right parameters on which we can establish a new approach for studying historical heritage. Also the precise 3D dataset that can derive from it may become the stone of comparison for more in-depth studies.
