This paper analyses the Roman coins from the Museo di Arte Sacra of Camaiore (LU). Since these coins represent only a part of those which were found in the municipal territory and which are now dispersed, it has become crucial to investigate the reports of ancient coin discoveries, as trasmitted by archival documents, in order to reconstruct the context of the finds and to determine their historical importance
