The PMA symposium series on Plant Growth Modeling and Applications was initiated by LIAMA, the French-Chinese Laboratory for Computer Sciences, Automation and Applied Mathematics. The main goal was to bring together researchers from different disciplines, including plant, environmental and computer sciences, forestry and agronomy, in order to share knowledge, ideas and methods in this new field. PMA06, the second conference in this series, took place in Beijing, China and hosted over 100 participants from 15 different countries. This event was organized in partnership with IEEE and was supported by several Chinese and French Institutes (CAF, CAS, CASIA, CAU, CSIG, NERCITA, CIRAD, INRA, INRIA), as well as by the French Embassy in China and t...
