La teigne du chou est actuellement un ravageur clé et cosmopolite des crucifères cultivées, étant résistant à plusieurs classes d'insecticides et même à Bacillus thurengiensis. La lutte biologique au moyen des Hyménoptères parasitoïdes constitue donc une composante majeure d'un programme de lutte intégrée contre ce ravageur. De nouvelles prospections ont été récemment entreprises et 70 populations de Plutella sur crucifères adventices ou cultivées ont été contrôlées dans 19 pays différents. Vingt trois parasitoïdes primaires stricts ont été trouvés. Les espèces clés sont des Diadegma, Cotesia plutellae et Oomyzus sokolowskii.
