El Open Data de la Publicidad Institucional

The aim of this study is to analyze the structure and content of open data on institutional advertising appearing in Spanish municipal open data portals. We selected those portals that gather data on advertising and created an annual index for each municipality to compare the evolution of this spending from 2006 to 2017. The results reveal that the release of data concerning this type of publicity is given a low profile. Additionally, the data are structured in non-standardized fashion and lack certain relevant information. Change is required in these practices in light of the close relationship perceived between institutional advertising, municipal elections, and the citizenry.El objetivo del presente trabajo es analizar la estructura y contenido de los datos liberados sobre publicidad institucional en los portales Open Data municipales españoles. Para tal fin, se han seleccionado los portales que reúnen datos sobre publicidad y se ha creado un índice por municipio y año para comparar su evolución durante el periodo 2006-2017. Los resultados obtenidos constatan una difusión de datos publicitarios de perfil bajo con una estructura poco homogénea y carente de campos informativos relevantes. Una realidad que requiere un cambio debido a la estrecha conexión percibida entre la publicidad institucional, las elecciones municipales y los ciudadanos
