The manuscript D-Z 81/2 has been known to musicologists since Reinhard Vollhardt described this source for the first time in his catalogue of music kept by the Ratsschulbibliothek Zwickau. With an overall number of 35 compositions by Ludwig Senfl this source must be counted as one of the most important manuscripts for the musical oeuvre of this composer in Central Germany. The two principal aims of the paper are therefore to discuss Senfl’s works contained in this source as well as to evaluate this hitherto neglected manuscript under philological aspects.
