When we read the narratives of erotical pursuits in Ovid’s work, we may see several similitudes, even some repetitions in the script. These similitudes are always in connection with the female pudor. Thereby, those narratives give us the proof that this highly polysemous word encompasses also a sens of sexual integrity for women. Besides, if Ovid does not use the word pudor in every narrative of erotical pursuits, we can see in these several displays the meanings of the word. So, the young women in these narratives try to keep their sexual integrity safe by keeping themselves away from male desire : they do not make themselves pretty, they curse their natural beauty and they dedicate their life to Diana, the goddess of virginity.
